Scratch have been doin’ it since 96. No mean feat i tells ya!

Over the past 17 years, they have brought some of the best known hip hop artists and djs to blighty: The Pharcyde, The Roots, De La Soul, Doug E Fresh, Grand Master Flash, Biz Markie, Roots Manuva, Plus One, Macy Gray, Roxanne Shante, Jurassic 5, Pete Rock, Madlib, Breakestra, Mos Def, Q-Bert, Souls Of Mischief, Mix Master Mike, Dj Premier, Slum Village, Public Enemy, Eminem… yes, I could go on.

Anyhoo, to celebrate 17 years of awesome beats and pieces ( hip hop means grafitti to0, sweet ). -  ‘Expo 17′ an exhibition featuring 17 artists and 17 djs presented by Angelo Carnielo, Creative Director of B-Side by Wale, takes place from thursday 6th till sunday 16th December 2012 at the Londonewcastle Project Space ( 28 Redchurch Street, E2 7DP London ).

Earl Gateshead began DJing in 1979 when he played reggae records between punk bands in Brixton. Nowadays he tours the globe playing records from the extensive Trojan catalogue, spreading the original message from Jamaica’s golden era of Reggae music. He still runs regular nights with good friend and co-host David Rodigan at Rootikal (East Village) but, come next friday for one night only – he’s with us. Sweet!
